Observing the "Structural Moats" That Effort Cannot Overcome

The top results are dominated by corporate domains and platforms like Zenn and Qiita; there is a structural moat that individual effort cannot cross. I measured the Search Engine Results Pages (SERP) for specific keywords like “Claude Code x Automation,” and the result was clear.

Search engines do not evaluate whether you are a “specific, unique individual.” No matter how high the quality of your primary information, you are blocked by the structural wall of domain authority. From the perspective of market principles, continuing to pour resources into this is not rational.

Therefore, I shifted my primary battlefield from search to algo-feeds, such as short-form videos. This is because here, it is the “density” of the content itself that is evaluated, not authority.

Analyzing video retention rates revealed a clear trend. A video themed “Creating AI Personality with Data and Budget” recorded a 50% retention rate at the 10% mark. In contrast, abstract philosophical pieces like “Abandon Belief and Protect with Structure” dropped to 6%. This difference is not due to the skill of the script, but rather the “density of evidence (demos or concrete objects) appearing on screen.

Thinking that you can reach your goal if you “just work harder” based on willpower is a dangerous gamble that ignores structure. The first thing to look at is whether the wall in front of you is something that can be broken through with individual ability, or if it is an inevitable moat created by the system’s design.

Step down from the places that are structurally blocked and move to a different arena where the axis of evaluation is different. I believe this pivot is the only strategy for maximizing an individual’s expertise.

Is the wall you are currently facing something that can be broken with effort? Or is it a signal that you should change where you fight? I have written about this before, but I want to ask the question once again.
